Quality Technician - Sign-On Bonus!

Schedule:
3rd shift, 10pm-6am

Must be available to work weekends and overtime when necessary

Job
Summary:

Kennametal is hiring a Quality Technician for their Goshen, IN plant.
The Quality Technician would perform dimensional, visual, and physical properties inspections of products at various stages of the manufacturing process.
The Quality Technician will carry out projects and assignments required to assist the Quality Department to maintain the Quality Management System and Customer Satisfaction.

Key
Responsibilities:

  • Prepare samples for chemical analysis
  • Run prepared samples on chemical analysis machines
  • Prepare addendums when necessary to correct chemistry issues
  • Maintain quality records including filing, scanning, updating, creating etc.
  • Maintain and update procedures and other quality documentation as needed.
  • Prepare certificates of analysis to accompany shipments to customers.
  • Input internal audit data to produce reports.
  • Enter data into SAP QMS including inspection plans, routing inspections, material master, and cert profiles.
  • Perform verification and effectiveness audits for RCAs.
  • Assist with QMS K100 implementation.
  • Follow up on NCR and initiate corrective action when necessary.
  • Assist with training documentation and filing.
  • Assist with calibration scheduling.
  • Write procedures and practices as required.
  • Maintain 5S+1 in office area.

Qualifications and
Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED with minimum 3 years experience in similar position
  • Effective communication skills; written and verbal.
  • Familiar with ISO requirements.
    Experience with Nadcap, nuclear, GE, or other standards a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of SAP (or high aptitude with ability to learn quickly).
  • Must be able to read complex documents and quickly decipher requirements and regulations.
  • Familiar with Rockwell hardness machines

  • Experience with calipers, micrometers, and various inspection and testing equipment.

  • Strong math and computer skills required.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

  • Approximately 8 hours standing, intermittent walking, and/or sitting in the laboratory or plant floor environment.
  • Appropriate PPE required; safety glasses, safety shoes, etc.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
