This client is looking to hire a VP of Operations to be located out of their manufacturing facility in Northern Indiana.


POSITION
Summary:
Vice President of Operations is a member of the Management Team. The VP Operations plays an integral and highly interactive leadership role on a team charged with assuring the vitality of existing operations and also strategizing and executing Operations functions to accommodate company growth. The VP Operations plays both strategic and tactical roles in the company. Specifically, leadership will contribute to ambitious strategic planning, understanding customer needs and continuously improving processes to meet these needs profitably, developing people to reach their full potential within the company mission, and executing profitable, achievable, and measurable tactical plans.

VP Operations Departmental Reporting
Responsibilities:
Planning, organizing, directing, and controlling the activities of company manufacturing, supply chain, inventory control, scheduling, logistics, order/customer service, and business process improvement.

REQUIREMENTS &
Qualifications:
Four year degree in a business related field; advanced degree and professional certification preferred.
Ten or more years Operations and Supply Chain Management; experience within the furniture industry preferred.
Proven track record of stewarding broader operations to support ambitious company growth goals including:
creating and maintaining stable and accountable operational functions in a cut/sew, assembly, and furniture upholstery manufacturing environment,
acting as part of a cross functional team leading/managing the change process required to meet external customer needs and balancing requirements for coherent internal systems.
strategic process improvement and leadership in lean disciplines.
people development and corresponding organizational design to achieve company goals.

Proven track record of integrating industry best practices into all functional areas and cross functionally (engineering, sales, finance, human resources and other constituencies).

Knowledge of:
management and leadership methods suited to companies of similar size to the company ? both current revenue levels as well as operations required from targeted growth levels.
best-practice integration of operational functions including manufacturing, supply chain, scheduling, order processing, logistics, and BPI.
operations- manufacturing management; finances, comprehensive P&L skills; systems- MRP, ERP, SRM and related technology;
quality systems, lean manufacturing, project management systems and industry best practices;
global supply chain development requirements

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:

Functional Duties:
Assure efficient and reliable creation and execution of production schedules
Coordinate all supply functions to support efficient schedule.
Understand ever changing customer requirements ? and work in partnership with front-end leadership to balance customer requirements with coherent operations.
Establish a lead plans to continuously improve processes - incorporating lean disciplines, policies, procedures and processes to support growth demands and insure organizational efficiency.
Bring forth a proactive operational strategy complimenting the vision of the organization.
Apply relevant industry best practices to bring execution strategies to:
? Support core customer business development and engineering initiatives
? Align technology infrastructure with operations
? Establish performance metrics and standards

People Development:
Responsible for the Personal Development Plan (PDP) for each staff member and align PDP?s with strategic business initiatives.
Foster a culture of accountability, performance based management, teamwork and other best practices to achieve the goals of the organization.
Leads and works closely with his/her direct reports while having the ability and ?know-how? to influence other key departments in the organization (engineering, sales, finance, human resources, and other constituencies).
Establishes formal, written goals for short, mid and long term staff development.
Experience managing a manufacturing, supply, inventory control, scheduling, and logistics team.

Work Environment: Requires regular interaction within normal office environment as well as furniture manufacturing environments including cutting, sewing, upholstery, wood fabrication, assembly operations, and all associated external supplier environments which includes a broad array of manufacturing environments.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
