Job Description
The Fleet Specifications Consultant reports to the Manager, Fleet Specifications, and is responsible for leading the development and and maintaining Fleet unit specifications for each business unit. The Consultant will be responsible for managing each specification from inception to successful conclusion, including negotiation preparation, economic analysis, negotiating best value solutions with suppliers and evaluating market data. The Fleet Specifications Consultant is accountable for supplier relations, issue resolution, and process improvements. The Fleet Specifications Consultant must possess an ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment and still meet business performance measures, timelines for order and delivery and plan for future fleet needs of the business units.
The Consultant is also responsible to insure suppliers are in compliance with each specification and has an appropriate quality program to insure accurate builds. The Consultant will perform total cost analysis and determine which vehicles provide the best overall value to Nisource.
Essential Responsibilites:
Develop fleet specifications for the corporate fleet catalog
Manage the functions related to fleet equipment acquisition process for new and existing specifications
Lead procurement and sourcing projects of varying levels of complexity for both strategic and tactical sourcing opportunities
Plan, negotiate, and execute with suppliers for agreements and purchase order terms, conditions, and timelines
Responsible for partnering with business units to develop fleet unit requirements
Develop economic analysis and communicate analysis to business units
Facilitate supplier selection with business units on RFP responses, total value and total cost of ownership
Develop and execute savings opportunities, efficiencies and process improvements
Adhere to policies and procedures
Analyze supplier performance metrics and recommend improvement opportunities
Communicate effectively with internal and external clients
Build and maintain supplier relations, resolving issues with supply partners
Resolve escalated supplier issues within business unit
Qualifications
Required for Selection:
Bachelor''''s Degree from an accredited college or university
3-5 years of operations experience
Demonstrated leadership competencies
Demonstrated ability to deliver results and achieve goals
Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
Demonstrated negotiations skills
Proven expertise in dealing effectively with others
Advanced computer skills in applications including
