As a leading designer, engineer and manufacturer of furniture, our client specializes in residential, commercial and healthcare furniture, automotive and airline interiors as well as specialty trim applications. This position will be based in Goshen, IN. The Project Engineer will be responsible for managing new product development projects that meet specific design and functional requirements of both internal and external customers. This person will complete all component development, all testing and compliance activity, technical support and all tooling activity necessary for various upholstery related products. The Project Engineer provides support to Engineering, Sales, Manufacturing and Supply Chain.


QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
B.S. degree in Industrial Technology, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience in a related field.
3- 5 years experience in upholstered furniture industry.
Experience in development and application of motion mechanisms related to the upholstered furniture industry.
Proficiency in SolidWorks 3-D CAD system or equivalent 3-D CAD systems.
Willingness to pursue additional training and instruction.

Essential Functions:
Knowledge of:
o Computer application programs, primarily spreadsheet, database, and word processing.
o Furniture-related material and materials applications.
o Product assembly processes and components applications in a furniture manufacturing environment.
o Structured new product introduction process.

o Communicate clearly, candidly, and intelligently using both written and spoken word
o Interface with internal and external customers and insure all needs are met and anticipated.
o Make critical decisions as they relate to product design and development.

Ability to:
o Organize, prioritize, and manage multiple projects in a team environment.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:

Administrative Duties:
Establish and communicate project completion plans.
Integrate industry specific regulatory requirements into product design, as required.
Understand ISO standards related to product designs and utilize prescribed quality standards.
Ability to achieve established project cost targets.
Accurate and timely completion of final product bill of materials.
Create documentation to support the assembly process for manufacturing furniture.
Provide accurate and complete product information for suppliers, and customers (internal and external).
Provide ongoing manufacturing support for product launch, Q-run, Engineering changes, and additional training, as necessary.

Technical Skills:
? Design and develop new furniture products using primarily wood, plastic or metal framing components.
? Determine specifications for products.
? Oversee assembly of engineering prototypes for use in testing for compliance to customer and statutory requirements.
? Understand the relationship between major components: structural frame, foam, and cover material and how to utilize in order to achieve the desired aesthetic and functional design requirements.
? Create 3D CAD models of furniture components and assemblies.
? Conduct DFMEA, PFMEA, FAI, PPAP, FEA, Reliability Plan and Risk Analysis process.
? Understand and apply Codes and Regulations related to the furniture industry, such as BIFMA, UL and FDA standards, as well as develop testing plans for compliance.
? Provide technical support to the process of tool design and creation by subcontractors for aluminum casting, plastic molding (thermoforming, injection, rotational etc.), die cutting, urethane foam molding, etc.

Interpersonal Skills:
? Proactively manage and communicate completion of project schedules.
? Exhibit good team member and team leadership skills.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
