Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Safety & Compliance Specialist to join our team.
This position is to support the administrative, safety, compliance and operations of Quality Drive Away and Foremost Transport operations.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
Accurately manage electronic data.
Knowledgeable of data entry management, technical skills, process integration to support operational needs.
Utilizes resources appropriately to maintain research and/or improve processes.
Ability to organize and manage written and digital communications.
Respond promptly and appropriately to phone and email communications.
Review driver logs to ensure compliance with Hours of Service (HOS) regulations.
Provide coaching and guidance to drivers on maintaining accurate logs and complying with regulations.
Conduct training sessions and workshops for drivers on safety and compliance-related topics.
Assist drivers in understanding and navigating the electronic logging device (ELD) system.
Perform audits of driver logs and records to identify and address any safety or compliance issues.
Stay up-to-date on federal and state regulations governing commercial driving and ensure compliance.
Work closely with the safety and compliance teams to ensure that all safety and regulatory requirements are being met.
Collaborate with other departments to develop and implement policies and procedures that support safety and compliance efforts.
Document and report any safety or compliance violations or issues to management Academic or Trade Requirements:
GED or equivalent is required.
Knowledge of PC Operations, Microsoft Office, Operating Software, Data Entry, Office Machines and Administrative Office Processes.
Analytical thinking, process management, self-motivation, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Prior transportation industry knowledge or experience a plus or agrees to develop the necessary knowledge to be successful.
Work experience and skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively coach, train, and discipline drivers on safety and compliance matters.
Collaborate and communicate both intra and interdepartmentally in a team setting with Quality Driveaway & Foremost Transport staff members.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify safety and compliance issues.
Familiarity with the FMCSA and other regulatory agencies preferred.
Strong organizational and time-management skills, demonstrating the ability to work both independently and collaboratively Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and work with little supervision.
Understanding of federal and state regulations governing commercial driving, including Hours of Service (HOS) regulations, preferred.
Experience with electronic logging devices (ELDs) and other compliance-related technology preferred.
Physical ability Sit /stand for periods of time greater than 2 hours at a time.
Lift greater than 25 pounds.
Hand and arm dexterity for data entry/office work.
