Summary:
This is an entry level position for extensive training in the (911) dispatch routine and qualification as a Communications Tech II.
Responsible for multiple activities in the emergency response process.
Will answer and dispatch multiple personnel in response to telephone calls regarding emergency and potentially life-threatening situations.
Responsible for operation of IDACS computer terminal, maintenance of records, and appropriate response to calls following set guidelines.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
High School diploma or GED Will be expected to meet qualifications for a Communications Tech II, be certified as an IDACS computer operator and CPR certification within 6 months Ability to perform multiple tasks, work at a computer terminal and enter data Pre-employment background check and polygraph Good typing skills (Minimum of 35 wpm) Elkhart County Human Resources 117 N.
